I enjoy helping people; it’s rewarding, and I love that I can bring impact to people’s lives. I think I’ve found a good balance here. Every single day, I enjoy it.

When I’m working Day Programs, I greet everyone and ask what they’d like to do for the day. We usually start off with tea and coffee, and we want our clients to feel happy and respected. We always try to respect what the client wants and what they decide. I’ll support whatever is chosen as long as it’s safe. If not, we talk about it together. Maybe it’s not about A or B, and we can find an option C. There are always options.

“Everyone should have the right to do what they want to do, so we make sure our programs offer choices, social activities, and opportunities to try new things.”

Terry

Our clients are funny, friendly, and sociable, and we have a lot of fun.

I enjoy that I can bring my creativity into the programs. I try to think of things I haven’t tried before, and we try them together. If I fail at something, we all laugh about it – we don’t take it too seriously.

I’m from Indonesia, and when I came here, I thought it would be hard because I come from a different culture, a different country, and a different language. But I was very welcomed by everyone. That makes me want to stay and work here. I got enough support and lots of training, so I feel very ready to take on whatever comes.
