“I have been here for two years. I get social 1:1 support and go to Engage Monday and Wednesdays. Sam does my 1:1. We go out sometimes and go walking. Today we made a stir-fry for dinner because mum does a lot of the cooking. We work well together. We go out to do things, go to the movies, and in summer we go swimming.

On Monday I go for cooking and arts and crafts in the afternoon. We also sometimes do dancing to music for group exercise. We have basketball right outside, too. It is good for socialising and communicating. It’s pretty fun. I get to meet new people; they’re nice people and we get to do good stuff.

It’s good because you learn new stuff. I like being in the kitchen and cooking. I used to do home economics in school where I would get 10/10. By learning more recipes, you get better at cooking and baking. I think things are getting better. Now I do cutting veg, and stirring in the meat. I am more confident with the stove, and I do more difficult stuff. That’s why it’s good to work with Sam, we agree, and she meets my needs. The client should get to make the decisions, that is what it’s like here. It’s good to learn new stuff, they’re some nice people.”
