The trip was inspired by our team in the Murraylands, who raised a significant amount to help build houses for families with a member living with disability through Heartprint in Cambodia. While there, Mark met families, visited stilted homes, and saw community centres teaching life skills, language, and hygiene. He also witnessed playground refurbishments and clean water projects that are transforming communities.

“Seeing the families and the difference these projects make was truly inspiring,” said Mark. “It shows how collective effort and creativity can change lives.”

In Sri Lanka, Mark visited the Dilmah Foundation, supporting people with disability, children, and mothers. Highlights included seeing how whole communities learn, work and celebrate together, I loved being included, dancing with local mums and witnessing the joy and resilience in the communities firsthand.

“This trip reminded me why supporting communities matters,” Mark said. “Every donation, every effort, and every act of care makes a real difference.”
