FAQs

Work Experience is a short-term opportunity to explore different roles and industries. It helps you get a feel for what you might enjoy before committing to more study or training. It’s unpaid and usually lasts a few days to a couple of weeks. Doing work experience with us can be a great way to show your interest and can lead to a paid traineeship!

Work Placement is a structured part of a Vocational Education and Training (VET) course. It gives you hands-on experience in a real workplace to build your skills and confidence. The length of the placement depends on your course requirements. Like work experience, it’s unpaid.

School-Based Traineeships are longer-term, paid opportunities where you can work part-time while finishing a Certificate III qualification. You’ll go through an application and interview process, and if successful, you can join our team while studying! There aren’t many traineeships available, so we look for students who are keen, reliable, and ready to learn.

If you’re interested, please visit our trainee page or get in touch with us.

Your wellbeing matters to us, and if something doesn’t feel right, please talk to the Team Leader or Regional Manager you’re working with. If you’re not comfortable doing that, chat with your teacher or our People & Culture team.

We get that life doesn’t begin and end at work. We’ll work with you to find hours that fit around your life and study while still meeting our client’s needs. Your hours are agreed on before you start working with us.

You should always feel safe in the workplace, and child protection laws apply in all our locations. All our teams are trained in this to keep you and others safe. If you have any concerns, please talk to your Team Leader or Teacher.

You will need a NDIS Worker Check and/or a DHS Working With Children Check. Before starting, you’ll also complete our Code of Conduct and Confidentiality training along with the NDIS Code of Conduct acknowledgement. Don’t worry, we’ll guide you through the process and give support where we can.

We offer a range of opportunities for students to explore their career options at different stages of their high school journey. Please read the information on this page outlined for each age group to find out more. You can also support your young person by:

  • Completing all forms and preparation steps with your child and the school
  • Ensure the workplace learning agreement form is completed before placement
  • Checking in with your child before, during, and after placements to make sure they’re comfortable and confident.
  • Contact us or the school if you have any safety or wellbeing concerns
