It’s official – our very first Livit Disability Support Impact Report is live! This one’s extra special because it celebrates our final year as Community Living Australia and the start of a fresh new chapter as Livit Disability Support.
“With more than 40 years of service behind us and a legacy of keeping it real, we’re excited to embrace this new era and continue to grow and evolve.”
Jill Coombe, Chair of the Board
The report was shared at the Annual General Meeting on 14 October, giving our leadership team and Board of Directors a chance to review and reflect on everything we’ve achieved together
You can read, watch, or listen to the report and see how our updated values guide the way we work every day.
These values aren’t really ‘new’ for us. They’re just a clearer, simpler way of saying what’s always mattered to us. Being honest, supporting each other, and staying prepared for whatever comes next.
“These values really sound like us,” said one team member. “They’re easy to remember and actually feel like how we work every day.”
Team Member
The refreshed values carry all the heart and purpose this organisation is known for, while giving us extra energy and clarity as we move forward. They’re a perfect fit for this exciting new chapter.
She shared her experiences, talked about the challenges she and others face, and answered plenty of thoughtful questions from the students. Speaking in front of a large group isn’t easy, but Kimmy delivered her message with courage and honesty.
“Kimmy’s bravery and openness made a real impact,” said Client Services Manager Sam. “She showed students what it’s like to live with disability and why small acts of kindness can make a big difference.”
Sam, Adelaide Hills & Strathalbyn Client Services Manager
By sharing her story, Kimmy has helped young people understand the importance of empathy, inclusion, and thinking about how their actions affect others. Her visit wasn’t just a talk; it was a lesson in compassion that the students won’t forget.
If you know Mark, you’ll know he’s never been one to sit back and watch. He’s the person who rolls up his sleeves, listens deeply, and always brings it back to what matters most: our people. Clients, families, and teams have always come first.
Mark’s influence stretches far beyond our organisation. As Chair of the National NDS SA Divisional Committee and the National NDS Workforce Community of Practise, he’s been a strong voice for the disability sector across Australia. He has helped shape how support is delivered and made sure people with disability remain at the centre of it all.
“This isn’t just stepping away from a role,” Mark said. “It’s saying goodbye to a sector that has shaped my life and my values. Working in disability support has never been just a job; it’s been my purpose. Leading Livit Disability Support (formerly Community Living Australia) has been the greatest privilege of all.”
Mark Kulinski
In true Mark style, he’s not slowing down just yet. He’ll keep leading with care, humour, and his trademark heart while the Board begins planning for the organisation’s next chapter.
Board Chair Jill Coombe said it best: “Mark’s unwavering commitment to our clients, families, staff, and community has left a lasting mark. His leadership has shaped who we are today and will continue to inspire us long into the future.”
Mark’s announcement comes as we also farewell Sue Stuart, our much-loved Client Services Manager for the Fleurieu & Kangaroo Island, who will retire in September 2025 after 25 years of dedicated service. Two incredible leaders, two huge legacies, and countless lives changed along the way.
Looking ahead, Mark is confident the organisation is in great hands.
“Livit Disability Support is in such a strong place, grounded in values I believe in deeply,” he said. “I have every confidence in our Board and leadership team to keep the spirit of this work alive. I will give it my all right up to the end. I’m so grateful for the trust, teamwork, and shared passion that have made this journey so special.”
For now, we’re taking a moment to say thank you, Mark. Thanks for the vision, the steady leadership, the laughs, and the legacy you leave behind.
These milestones are more than just numbers. They represent the laughter, challenges, and successes shared across teams. They show the care, creativity, and dedication that go into supporting clients and making a real difference in their lives. From helping someone try something new to providing steady support in tough moments, these team members leave a mark every day.
“It’s inspiring to see so many people being celebrated for their years of service,” said CE Mark Kulinski. “Their experience, loyalty, and energy are at the heart of the amazing work we do.”
Mark Kulinski, CE
Thank you to everyone reaching these milestones. Your time, talent, and heart make our organisation a special place. Here’s to many more years of making a difference together!
The rebrand has been two years in the making with the help of creative agency Freerange Future, a partner that shares our values. Hundreds of staff, clients, and families pitched in with ideas, feedback, and honest thoughts, shaping every part of the new brand.
People told us that Community Living Australia could be tricky to say and hard to remember. We were also told the colours weren’t always easy to see, and the design felt serious. It was clear we needed something simpler, friendlier, and more fun.
Enter Livit Disability Support. Simple, energetic, modern, and inclusive while still paying respect to our roots. Our refreshed values are also easy to understand, speak to the heart of what we do, and carry forward the spirit of the organisation.
This rebrand isn’t just a new logo. It’s a reflection of the trust we have in our people, the feedback they shared, and the changes we made because of it. It’s about making ourselves stronger for the long haul, standing out, and being easy for everyone to connect with.
“I’m proud of this new look and name,” said Nick, Chair of the Client Advisory Board. “We got to share our ideas and feedback and see them come to life in a brand that feels welcoming, easy to say, and truly reflects us all.”

Sue’s journey began as a Support Worker before she went on to help shape services across the Fleurieu, Adelaide Hills, Riverland, Limestone Coast, and Kangaroo Island. Her out-of-the-box thinking, humour, and unwavering care for people have left a lasting mark on everyone she’s worked with.
“Sue is the kind of person who just makes things happen,” said Director of Client Services, Tina Till. “She’s a problem solver, an advocate, and she always puts people first.”

As Sue heads into her well-earned next chapter, she leaves behind a legacy of heart, innovation, and connection that will continue to shape Livit Disability Support for years to come.
Stepping into the role is Alanna, who brings extensive experience, a passion for people, and an inspiring personal journey that began with a single trial shift.
Alanna’s story is a testament to what’s possible with the right support, flexibility, and heart. Those same values run deep at Livit Disability Support.
“Coming into the office is always bubbly and brightens my day. It’s hard not to be happy at work,” she said. “That’s what keeps me coming back every day, the people.”
Alanna, Fleurieu & Kangaroo Island Client Services Manager
With Alanna at the helm and a strong team, the future of Client Services for the Fleurieu, Metro and Kangaroo Island is in good hands.
We’re proud to share that overall results put us in the minimal concern category, showing we have a healthy balance of low stressors and strong supports. This means our teams feel supported, connected, and confident in their roles.
The survey is done every 18 months and gives everyone the opportunity to share feedback on what’s working and where we can improve. Other results from the 2025 survey showed we have strong role clarity, supportive relationships with supervisors and peers, and confidence in fair and consistent processes. All of these are key indicators of a healthy and engaged workplace.
The survey feedback also shows us areas of opportunity and improvement. Over the next year, we’ll be focusing on strengthening areas that matter most to our people. This includes emotional wellbeing, communication during times of change, and psychological safety. These priorities show our commitment to improving and creating a safe place for people to learn and grow.
“We really value feedback from our people. It tells us what’s working and where we can make real improvements for our teams,” said CE Mark Kulinski.
“The survey confirms we’re creating a workplace where people feel heard, supported, and ready to do their best every day.”
Mark Kulinski, Livit Disability Support CE
Meeting every two months, the Board brings together clients with an independent Chair, and its recommendations go directly to the Chief Executive and Board. Over the past year, the CAB has helped the organisation rethink its brand, provide input on services, and spark new initiatives that make a real difference for clients.
“The Client Advisory Board is here to make sure clients have a real voice in how services are delivered,” said the Chair of the CAB, Nick Schumi. “New members bring fresh ideas and perspectives that help us make better decisions every day.”

Livit Disability Support is now looking for new members to join the CAB. Anyone interested in contributing their ideas and experiences can find out more or nominate by calling 8536 5888.
Supported adventures like this give clients the chance to try new experiences, build independence, and create memories that last a lifetime. Every client paid their own way while receiving their usual support, showing that adventure and empowerment can go hand in hand.
“It was fun!”

Behind the scenes, the team worked hard to make sure the trip was smooth, accessible, and full of fun.
“These trips are about more than just the activities,” said the Client Services Manager, Alanna. “They’re about giving people freedom, confidence, and the chance to experience new things in a safe and supported way.”
Alanna, Fleurieu & Kangaroo Island Client Services Manager
The Gold Coast adventure shows exactly why supported trips are so important. They open doors, spark joy, and let clients live life to the fullest.
The trip was inspired by our team in the Murraylands, who raised a significant amount to help build houses for families with a member living with disability through Heartprint in Cambodia. While there, Mark met families, visited stilted homes, and saw community centres teaching life skills, language, and hygiene. He also witnessed playground refurbishments and clean water projects that are transforming communities.
“Seeing the families and the difference these projects make was truly inspiring,” said Mark. “It shows how collective effort and creativity can change lives.”
Mark Kulinski, Livit Disability Support CE
In Sri Lanka, Mark visited the Dilmah Foundation, supporting people with disability, children, and mothers. Highlights included seeing how whole communities learn, work and celebrate together, I loved being included, dancing with local mums and witnessing the joy and resilience in the communities firsthand.
“This trip reminded me why supporting communities matters,” Mark said. “Every donation, every effort, and every act of care makes a real difference.”

Mark’s journey was a powerful reminder that connection can change lives both near and far.

The latest report from the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) shows an almost non-existent pay gap, a rare achievement in the social services sector. In 2023–24, Community Living Australia (now Livit Disability Support) recorded a median pay gap of just -0.7% for base salary and -0.4% for total remuneration, showing that women and men are paid fairly across roles.
At Livit Disability Support, fair pay is more than just numbers, it reflects how much we value everyone’s contribution. From our leaders to our support staff, we want every team member to feel respected, supported, and recognised. Creating a workplace where people can grow, succeed, and do their best work is at the heart of what we do.
“This achievement reflects our deep commitment to equity,” said Director of People & Culture, Nicole. “Ensuring fair pay is about recognising the value of every individual and fostering a culture of respect and opportunity.”
Nicole Smith, Director of People & Culture
Most team members are paid according to the industry award, while others receive market-aligned rates as relevant to their role. This approach ensures everyone is treated and compensated fairly. The WGEA report confirms Livit Disability Support’s commitment to fairness, equality, and building a workplace where everyone is valued and supported.
On 29 April 2025, Community Living Australia (now Livit Disability Support) submitted its annual report to the Workplace Gender Equality Agency, in line with the requirements under the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012. We invite people to read the report and share feedback.

The directorate will work closely with senior leadership, regional teams, and local staff to guide the organisation’s next chapter and make sure growth stays thoughtful, sustainable, and centred on people.
Leading the charge is Kathleen Woolford, who brings decades of experience in disability and community services, plus a background as a speech pathologist. Kathleen’s known for her energy, curiosity, and knack for turning big ideas into action.
“I’m thrilled to step into this role and work with our amazing teams and clients,” Kathleen said. “There’s so much opportunity to grow, learn, and keep making a difference every day.”

The new directorate will bring together Quality and Safeguarding, Marketing and Communications, and a brand-new Supported Independent Living (SIL) Growth Coordinator role.
The team will look at how we can make our outstanding SIL supports available to more people. We want our high-quality and safe SIL support that’s completely designed around our clients to be easily accessible.
Chief Executive Mark Kulinski said the new directorate creates space for meaningful growth while keeping the organisation’s strong foundations front and centre.
“This is about finding new ways to grow while holding tight to what makes us who we are,” Mark said. “Quality and safeguarding remain at the heart of everything we do. I’m confident this directorate will help us explore new opportunities without ever losing sight of the trusted, high-standard support our clients rely on.”

With this new structure in place, Livit Disability Support is setting itself up for thoughtful growth and a future full of new opportunities.
Working closely with SDA networks, our team saw an opportunity to support a new client who had been impacted by sector disruptions. The client wanted to move closer to family, and the team sprang into action. With a property ready to go, staff from across the organisation pulled together to recruit a local workforce, coordinate support, and get everything set up—fast!
“Everyone jumped in and worked tirelessly to make it happen,” said Tina Till, Director of Client Services. “From planning to opening the doors, the energy, care, and teamwork that made it all possible was incredible.”

Behind the scenes, regional and central staff worked hand-in-hand to make sure the transition was smooth and the new home felt welcoming from day one.
Now, Darren and Luke are settling into their new home, enjoying their routines, and making the space truly their own. It’s a perfect example of what can happen when people come together to make a real difference.
