I saw my youthwork friends moving out of home, and I’m like, I wanna do that! You know like living by myself, and now I do it! We were scared and a little nervous because I was like, who do I live with? Which carers will I have? And stuff like that, but I got used to it after a while.
I don’t’ have to have my parents nagging me – doing this, doing that and stuff like that which I don’t’ mind but when I live on my own, I get to do whatever I want to do. Obviously, staying here (at home) or going out for bike riding, or go to the gym and stuff. Yeah, it’s pretty good.

It was a bit nerve-racking when he was leaving home, but he was so excited it was actually his choice as well. I didn’t realise it would actually happen, so it was pretty exciting that he did make his move. I still miss him at home, but just to have that independence of seeing him growing is great.
