What to expect from putting in your application to onboarding and tips for everything in between.
Our selection process a two-way conversation. It’s a chance for us to learn about you and for you to learn about us, too. We welcome people from all walks of life and value the different experiences, abilities and approaches each person brings.
Here’s what to expect:
Found a role that excites you? Fantastic! Start by reading the job ad and position description carefully. The better you understand the role, the easier it will be to show how your skills, experience, and personality will make you a great fit. When you’re getting ready to apply, we recommend you:
In your application, we’ll ask for at least two referees. One should be from your current or most recent supervisor, and the other can either be another supervisor or an academic referee if you have studied within the last 12 months. Make sure to give them a heads-up that they might hear from us; they’ll appreciate it!
Sometimes we may need extra referees, for example, if the ones provided aren’t quite right. If that happens, we’ll let you know.
When we get your application, we’ll take the time to look over it carefully. We’re looking for people share our values, not just meet the role requirements.
If you’re shortlisted, we’ll give you a quick call to learn more about you and share what’s next.
If you’re not successful this time, we’ll let you know by email. We appreciate the time taken to apply for roles, so if you would like specific feedback, please reach out, and we will provide it where we can.
If you’re invited to an interview – congratulations! We want this to feel like a two-way conversation; it’s your chance to get to know us too. Here’s what to expect:
Tips to help you feel confident:
Situation –  what was happening?
Task – what needed to be done?
Action – what did you do?
Result – what happened as a result?
If you’re successful – hooray! We’ll call you with the good news and send a formal offer. Before you start, we’ll guide you through next steps, including:
We’ll make sure you feel supported every step of the way, right through to your first day.
We look for people who want to make a difference, are open to learning, and ready to bring their best. Skills and experience are important, but attitude, values, and willingness to grow matter just as much.
It depends on the role. Some jobs need specific qualifications, while others are more about your transferable skills and experience. You’ll find the details in each job ad. If you’re still not sure, please contact us.
Yes! If you need any adjustments, like extra time in an interview or information in a different format, send us an email to people@livit.org.au after you apply, and we’ll work with you to make it happen.
Head to our ‘We’re Hiring’, page, find the role you’re interested in, and click ‘Apply.’ You’ll be asked to upload your resume and cover letter. After you hit submit, a form will be emailed to you, which needs to be completed before we can properly review your application. Please make sure to apply through our website and not SEEK or a job listing.
Our interviews are more like conversations. We want to get to know you, your skills, and how you work. We also want you to get to know more about us. Depending on the role, there may be one or two rounds, and you might be asked some scenario-based questions or to complete a short task. We’ll include all the details in your confirmation email.
Yes, as long as you have the right visa and work rights in Australia.
Working with Livit means being part of a team that values balance, growth, and connection. You’ll find a supportive culture, flexible working where possible, and opportunities to make a real difference.
It depends on the role. Office-based roles are usually business casual, while frontline roles may opt to wear our branded clothing or casual clothes that meet any safety requirements. You’ll be told exactly what’s needed before you start.
We pay all employees in line with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services (SCHADS) Industry Award, or market rate, depending on the role and your experience. All details will be shared during the recruitment process.
Your journey with us starts before day one! During onboarding, you’ll complete modules that familiarise you with our policies and procedures.
And it doesn’t stop there; ongoing training and development are part of how we support you to grow.
Still have questions? No problem, share your details and our team will be in touch.
