If you know Mark, you’ll know he’s never been one to sit back and watch. He’s the person who rolls up his sleeves, listens deeply, and always brings it back to what matters most: our people. Clients, families, and teams have always come first.
Mark’s influence stretches far beyond our organisation. As Chair of the National NDS SA Divisional Committee and the National NDS Workforce Community of Practise, he’s been a strong voice for the disability sector across Australia. He has helped shape how support is delivered and made sure people with disability remain at the centre of it all.
“This isn’t just stepping away from a role,” Mark said. “It’s saying goodbye to a sector that has shaped my life and my values. Working in disability support has never been just a job; it’s been my purpose. Leading Livit Disability Support (formerly Community Living Australia) has been the greatest privilege of all.”

In true Mark style, he’s not slowing down just yet. He’ll keep leading with care, humour, and his trademark heart while the Board begins planning for the organisation’s next chapter.
Board Chair Jill Coombe said it best: “Mark’s unwavering commitment to our clients, families, staff, and community has left a lasting mark. His leadership has shaped who we are today and will continue to inspire us long into the future.”
Mark’s announcement comes as we also farewell Sue Stuart, our much-loved Client Services Manager for the Fleurieu & Kangaroo Island, who will retire in September 2025 after 25 years of dedicated service. Two incredible leaders, two huge legacies, and countless lives changed along the way.
Looking ahead, Mark is confident the organisation is in great hands.
“Livit Disability Support is in such a strong place, grounded in values I believe in deeply,” he said. “I have every confidence in our Board and leadership team to keep the spirit of this work alive. I will give it my all right up to the end. I’m so grateful for the trust, teamwork, and shared passion that have made this journey so special.”
For now, we’re taking a moment to say thank you, Mark. Thanks for the vision, the steady leadership, the laughs, and the legacy you leave behind.
