When we bring Ben to Myranth he’s quite excited to be coming here. We know he’s happy here. We just know he’s happy and well looked after.
Having a service like Myranth gives me peace of mind. Knowing that when I need to, there’s somewhere Ben can come and he’s looked after like he is at home. He has great carers, they all seem to love him. He loves them obviously, and it’s just peace of mind. I can just live my life while he’s here with no worry.
He’s always really happy when we leave him, he’s always happy when we pick him up. I have made impromptu visits many times. Ben is always happy and doesn’t have a problem saying goodbye to me when I walk out the door.
Myranth House for me is peace of mind. Just knowing I have somewhere for Ben to go and that he’s well looked after is a load off my mind.”

I think Ben has a very good relationship with the Support Workers. He seems to respond to them really well, and he’s always happy. Sometimes I think he doesn’t want to come back home!
I chose Myranth house because I like the idea of the location, a nice quiet country town. I like that it’s very safe for his carers to take him for walks, with beautiful parks. The house is well set up for him.
My advice to other families if they’re looking for STR for their complex needs children, is to be confident in sending them to Myranth. From my experience, they’ll be very well looked after, and they’ll be very happy with their time there.
I actually feel that since Ben’s been coming to Myranth more often, his social interaction with other people is much better. One day Ben will need to go into SIL housing or move away from home. So I just want him to get used to being around other people and interacting more.
Myranth House for me is peace of mind. Just knowing I have somewhere for Ben to go and that he’s well looked after is a load off my mind.
